Paneer Masala

Ingredients
Onion-1 medium sized
Cashew-7-8 soak in water for half an hour(or microwave for a minute in water)
Tomato-1 big
Chilly powder-1 teaspoon
Jeera powder-1 teaspoon
Coriander powder-1 teaspoon
Channa masala powder-1teaspoon
Turmeric-1teaspoon
sugar-1 teaspoon
Paneer cut into cubes



Procedure
1.Grind onion and cashew together. Make a tomato paste separately.Otherwise you can use tomato puree too.Fry the paneer and soak in salt water.(Check the procedure here)
2.In a kadai add oil, add the onion/cashew paste.Add turmeric, a little salt and a teaspoon of sugar. When sugar caramalizes it gives a nice colour to the dish.
3.Simmer it for 5-8 minutes.Once you the onion is cooked and oil separates, add the tomato paste and also add all the dry powders and also salt according to your taste.

4.Again simmer it for 6-8 minutes with occasional stirs.Then add the soaked paneer with the salt water.

5.Simmer until the oil separates and floats on top.Serve it with Pulao or Roti or plain rice.

    Great Recipe Manni...I am planning to try the same sans Paneer..With Cauliflower instead 'cos that's what I have at home now :-)
