I tried this recipe today as a modification of Whole Green gram dosai(Andhra Pesarat). All of us thoroughly enjoyed this dosai as it was a wholesome meal with proteins, carbohydrates and vegetables. Carrot and coriander adds beautiful colour to the dish and onions gives the crunchiness.
Ingredients
Green gram (yellow) (Moong dhal /payatham paruppu) - 1 cup
Boiled rice - 1 cup
Green chillies - 4/5
Ginger - a little
a handful of curry leaves
salt according to taste
Soak all the above together for 2/3 hours and grind to a smooth paste.
Carrot - 2 grated
Onion - 1 chopped finely
Coriander - chopped finely
Asafoetida - 1 teaspoon
Procedure
1.To the lentil/rice batter add the grated carrot, chopped onion, coriander, asafoetida.
2.Heat a flat dosa pan, spread the batter smoothly. Pour oil on sides. Cook both sides and serve with chutney or curd.
